On arrival into Nairobi airport you will be met and briefed on your safari before being transferred to your Hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure at meridian court hotel.
This morning will begin with a visit the to Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre (entrance fees included) before setting off down the Rift Valley where some fantastic photo opportunity present themselves - the views from the top of the escarpment are stunning. We will arrive at the Naivasha in time for a mid-morning check in and a leisurely lunch on the green lawns of the Lodge. After lunch take a walk down to the lake and see if you can spot any hippo
wallowing in the waters.
Naivasha is also home to a huge variety of birds and one of the Lodge's resident bird specialists will be happy to take you on a guided walk to show you some of the Lake’s residents. For those wishing to get closer to nature, a boat trip to Crescent Island is a fantastic option (additional cost). This amazing little island is home to giraffe and is the perfect place to stretch your legs, and explore on foot what Kenya has to offer.
Afternoon tea is normally served at 4pm, and there is nothing better than taking in the stunning surroundings with a pot of tea and a slice of delicious cake as an accompaniment. Overnight – at Lake Naivasha Cray fish camp.
After a good night’s sleep you will be ready for a full on day. Lake Nakuru National Park is on the itinerary for today. The park's central lake is covered almost all year round with a slight pink tinge thanks to its many resident flamingos. Lunch has been arranged at the hotel. After an afternoon game drive you will be transferred back to Naivasha in time for a lake walk before the sun starts to set on yet another action packed day. This morning it’s an early start as we leave for the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Mara Sopa Lodge. The magic of the Mara becomes clear as soon as we enter the Reserve's gates. The vast open plains are home to some of the most spectacular wildlife documentaries and photos. The Mara Lodge has been created to ensure clients get the most authentic Kenyan experience. Praised for its ethnic design, the lodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens but perfectly
representing the Mara.
After you have checked in and enjoyed lunch you may want to take some time to unpack and settle in. In any case we suggest you wait until the heat of the day has begun to subside until you head out on your first game drive. Back at the Lodge dinner will be served after pre-dinner drinks in the Lodge's main area. A fun way to meet other guests and discuss the day’s events.
Overnight - Mara Enchoro wildlife camp camp (B, L, D)
Another fabulous day in the Masai Mara waits as we wake early ready for an early morning game drive. Early mornings are one of the best times to view game in the Mara as the animals are at their most active before the heat of the day kicks in. Back at the Lodge breakfast will be waiting for us on our return. After breakfast a morning by the pool or relaxing with a good book awaits. Alternatively, explore the grounds with a guide, spotting the smaller animals
of the Mara on foot. After lunch another game drive out in the Reserve spotting and ticking off some of those must see animals from your list is a rewarding way to spend the afternoon before returning to the lodge for dinner. Overnight - Mara Enchoro wildlife camp camp (B, L, D)
Today is your last day in the Masai Mara and after an early morning game drive an educational visit to a local Masai Village (additional cost) might be an interesting way to spend the rest of your morning. Learn about the Masai way of life and explore a traditional Masai Manyatta before returning to the lodge in time for a late lunch and an afternoon of relaxing before heading out on our last afternoon game drive of our safari. Overnight - Mara Enchoro wildlife camp camp (B, L, D)
As the sun rises on your last morning in the Masai Mara we can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before beginning our journey back up the Rift Valley to Nairobi, stopping en route to have a picnic lunch. On arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your onward flight home. (B, L)
